


Introduction of PI

Dr. Yaqiong Xiao is currently an Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT). She received her Ph.D. in 2017 from the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences/Leipzig University in Germany. From 2017 to 2021, she completed postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the Autism Center of Excellence at the University of California, San Diego, where her research focused on the neural mechanisms underlying children’s social interaction and early signs of autism in infants and toddlers.
Dr. Xiao’s research focuses on the study of language processing and development in children and its underlying neural mechanisms. Her work spans both typically developing children and those with developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder and language development disorders. She is also committed to advancing science-based platforms for cognitive assessment and intervention.
As first or corresponding author, Dr. Xiao has published a number of SCI papers in leading international journals, including Nature Human Behaviour, Molecular Autism, Autism Research, NeuroImage, Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, and Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
